I love Amazon just as much as the next guy, but sometime the "I want it yesterday" mentality can distract us from the goals we have for decorating a more cohesive, unified looking home.
In today's episode I'm teaching you about the concept of SLOW DECORATING - what it is, why it's beneficial and how to do it. What is slow decorating: mindfully choosing items for your home instead of the quick push to finish a room fast.
What are the benefits: less pressure, more time for budgeting, trend-proof styling and the ability to embrace different 'styles' because you are in more alignment with your personal aesthetic.
How to decorate slowly: know your aesthetic, how your room needs to function and the ways your home is looking or lacking cohesiveness (I teach all of this in the Better Than Basics Bootcamp); know where your products are being made and the quality; honoring your budget by making intentional choices; shop local, handmade, flea markets, antique stores; be prepared to be surprised.
